RTAA Rail Industry Field Day 2019

What is the RTAA Rail Industry Field Day event? The RTAA Rail Industry Field Day event is the biggest outdoor rail event in Australia held over two days. It is an event that showcases innovation and technology in the industry. This includes via: • Indoor and outdoor exhibitor stands/booths • Onsite equipment and machinery (for example: onsite tampers) • Outdoor demonstrations (for example: welding demonstrations) • Presentations on projects and innovative initiatives (held in the Fettlers Shed – see over page). When is it held? The next event is 3–4 April 2019. The RTAA Rail Industry Field Day usually takes place biannually. Where is it held? Sydney Trains Paddock Sidings, Clyde NSW (see over page for a map of the location). What does it cost? The RTAA Rail Industry Field Day event is free to attend. How do I get there? A complimentary shuttle bus is provided for all attendees from Auburn Train Station. This operates approximately every 15 minutes. There is no on-site parking available for attendees. Do I have to wear PPE or bring anything? Flat enclosed shoes must be worn to the event. No other PPE is mandated however it is recommended that long sleeves and pants are worn. A hat is also recommended. Sunscreen is provided on-site. Complimentary refreshments including tea/coffee and lunch are also provided. What happens when I arrive? All attendees (including speakers and presenters) must attend the registration booth and participate in a short site induction. Attendees are given an event ‘showbag’ that includes a site map, sponsor information and event program. All exhibitors will be provided with a ‘bump in’ time and instructions as part of their exhibitor pack. This is provided on confirmation of exhibitors following payment of fees. Who attends the RTAA Rail Industry Field Day event? Anyone who is interested in the Australian rail industry can attend. The event is free and open to anyone. In the past, over 2,000 people have attended from within and outside the rail community. This includes senior representatives from industry and government, as well as a wide range of roles such as engineers, graduates, project managers and track workers. More recently attendees have also come from educational institutions including schools. In 2019 we expect to attract more than 2,500 participants.
